Transmodernidad - Transmodernity

Este sitio toma su nombre de una de los temas del filósofo Enrique Dussel. Cito:

"El mito de la Modernidad tiene ahora un sentido distinto al que tenía para Horkheimer o Adorno, o que tenía para los Postmodernos -como Lyotard, Rorty o Vattimo-. Contra los Postmodernos no criticaremos la razón en cuanto tal; pero admitiremos su crítica contra la razón dominadora, victimaria, violenta. Contra el racionalismo universalista no negaremos su núcleo racional, sino su momento irracional del mito sacrificial. No negamos entonces la razón, sino la irracionalidad de la violencia del mito moderno; no negamos la razón, sino la irracionalidad postmoderna; afirmamos la 'razón del Otro' hacia una mundialidad Trans-moderna."

This site takes its name from one of philosopher Enrique Dussel's notions. I quote:

Unlike the postmoderns, I will not criticize reason as such; but I do accept their critique of reason as dominating, victimizing, and violent. I will not deny universalist rationalism its rational nucleus, but I do oppose the irrational element of its sacrificial myth. I do not then deny reason, only the irrationality of the violence of the modern myth. I do not deny reason, but rather postmodern irrationality.
